Cardi B was one of the headliners for the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta on September 8th and 9th, however, she had to pull out to recover mentally and physically after giving birth to her first child with her husband, Offset.
“She will not be able to perform at ONE MusicFest this year,” the festival wrote via Instagram. “We support her decision and understand wholeheartedly. Family & Health first!” However, the organization teased that they had a big announcement coming up.
Nas and Miguel are slate to headline the two-day celebration in Atlanta. Additional performers include Jeezy, T.I., George Clinton with Parliament, Big Sean, Common with his supergroup August Greene, Rapsody, Kelis, Brandy, Jessie Reyez, DJ Nabs’ ATL Crunk Set featuring YoungBloodz, Ying Yang Twins, Eastside Boyz, Trillville, Kilo Ali and DJ Taz, and a handful of others.
This news comes after Cardi backed out of the 24K Magic Tour with Bruno Mars. The tour is scheduled to kick off September 7th, but Bardi was in over her head when she agreed to tour only 6 weeks after giving birth.
“I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically,” the new mom stated. “I also thought I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated the whole mommy thing.”
Although we won’t get the opportunity to feel her amazing energy on a stage, she teases that she’s working on some new music. So #BardiGang, get ready.
