Critics are Accusing Cardi B of Only Making Songs for Viral TikTok Dances

Cardi B has been making a lot of headlines lately after dropping her single, “Up.”

Just last week, the female rapper had to reply to accusations of plagiarising the new single. This week, Cardi is not catching a break. It’s not uncommon for her songs to take off on social media, especially TikTok. However, the recent single has led to accusations about Cardi’s intentions with her songs.

People are claiming that Cardi B is making music that panders to users on TikTok. Her music, supposedly, is taking advantage of that the popularity a viral dance can provide. Now, Cardi has set the record straight.

Yesterday, Cardi B takes to her social media to tweet our her response to the claims. “Don’t try to play me like I just started this sh*t cause of TikTok,” she tweets. Her response doesn’t stop there. The “WAP” rapper then goes on a rant by tweeting multiple times to address the issue. Additionally, Cardi B reminds everyone that her music videos have been “A1” from the start.

 

Closing out her argument, Cardi makes it known that she has never pushed for a dance challenge. She even gives examples of how she’s never offered money or rewards to do so. Moreover, it would seem as though she could be referring to other artists who have promoted a dance challenge to their songs.
