Denzel Washington Reacts To Will Smith Comparisons During ‘A Journal For Jordan’ Red Carpet Premiere

Denzel Washington has become increasingly involved behind the scenes over the past decade, producing several films and even wearing the director hat. His latest directorial work is for the upcoming holiday film, A Journal for Jordan, starring Michael B. Jordan and Chante Adams.

A Journal for Jordan is based on a true story about “First Sergeant Charles Monroe King (Jordan), a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Back at home, senior New York Times editor Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams) revisits the story of her unlikely, life-altering relationship with King and his enduring devotion to her and their child. A sweeping account of a once-in-a-lifetime love, the film is a powerful reminder of the importance of family,” as per the synopsis.

Two Bees TV exclusively covered the red carpet premiere and caught up with Denzel Washington and discussed working on this film.

When asked how did he approach this film in comparison to the last film he directed, Fences, which earned him his first Oscar Award, he said, “I didn’t have to be in it so I could, I could concentrate just on making the film. Didn’t have to worry about, uh, acting at all.”

In another exclusive Two Bees TV interview with Snowfall‘s Damson Idris, the British actor revealed that he auditioned for Fences but didn’t get the part. Unfortunately, the veteran actor didn’t know or remember who Damson is but it’s only a matter of time so he couldn’t weigh in on the comparisons, but he’s also compared to another veteran actor.
