Dwayne Wade Opens Up About his Son’s Transition

Dwayne Wade delivered a powerful speech every parent needs to hear.

Anytime he posts a family picture with his openly gay son, the Internet is in a frenzy. Matt Barnes straight up asked him how is it raising his 12-year-old son, Zion. “You want to talk about strength and courage? My 12-year-old has way more than I have,” Dwyane said. “You can learn something from your kids, but in the household, now, it’s all we talk about. We talk about our kids being seen by each of us… We want them to be whoever they feel like they can be in this world. Understand that you can be whoever. You can be whatever.”

“I’ve watched my son from day one become into who she now eventually has come into. For me, nothing changes with my love. Nothing changes with my responsibilities. Only thing I gotta do now is get smarter and educate myself more. That’s my job.”

Dwayne Wade also added that he responds to criticism about his parenting because he “understands his platform” and uses it to help people who can relate.
