In honor of Tory Lanez’s sophomore album, Memories Don’t Die, Miss2Bees wanted to know a few memories Fargo had.
So she played a few songs that he sampled from his Chixtape 4, including, “Grind With Me” by Pretty Ricky, “Just a Friend” by Mario, “One Call Away” by Chingy and more.
Many millennials may relate to the “BID” singer when he reminisced about watching 106 & Park and watching the video for Chingy’s “One Call Away” for the first time and peeping the older brother from Smart Guy, Jason Weaver, actually hitting them notes.
In the midst of the game, Tory broke down the sample game in the Chixtape series.
For people who don’t know about the Chixtapes, the Chixtapes have all come from a place where we only sample R&B records. We kind of bring your favorite classics to life or bring a new flavor to them. What people don’t understand is that the Chixtape 1 was supposed to be all 80’s sounding stuff. The Chixtape 2 was supposed to be all 90’s, early 90’s stuff. The Chixtape 3 was like ’97 going into ’99. Chixtape 4 was all 2001 to like 2003. The next one will be probably around the same time but go up a little later.
