Fivio Foreign Drags French Montana for Not Paying Homage to Brooklyn Drill

A lot of people aren’t feeling French Montana these days, including Fivio Foreign who is best known for breaking out in the Brooklyn drill scene.

It all started after Montana previewed a record with Jim Jones, but the song favors the beloved drill sound that Brooklyn artists adopted from UK rappers. Fivio’s issue with the veteran rapper is that he enlisted his friend and collaborator, Mr. Swipey, as a backup dancer instead of actually putting him on.

“I ain’t jackin’ that n***a French. He don’t realize what he’s doing because the position. He sees n***as in a little position where [he’s like], ‘Aiight, Lemme do this. Lemme give n***a money,'” he explained. “Shit like that to make it look like he’s doing something for n***a. You ain’t really doin’ nothin’ for nobody, my n***a, you feel me?”

He did acknowledge that he has a spotlight on him and can put Swipey on himself, but he went on to explain why that’s a difficult task to complete in his position. “I’m a brand new artist so I’m not really that in a position to be puttin’ n***as in good positions yet,” Fivio added. “I’m talkin’ ’bout French Montana, n***a. French Montana wildin’, n***a. He wildin’, n***a. He gon’ have Swipey dancin’ and spinnin’ in every video like if he some type of back-up dancer, n***a. Ain’t no back-up dancer for you, n***a. You ain’t ’bout to use drill beats and have n***as spinning.”

Fivio Foreign saluted artists like Drake and Meek Mill who have properly paid homage to the Brooklyn drill wave by collaborating with its key artists and providing big opportunities.

Swipey, who has a song with French called “You Wildin”, addressed his partner’s rant and thanked French for showing love to GS9 and Pop Smoke. But admitted that wasn’t the correct way to address a problem. “HAANNNN 8FS X COKEBOYS
