Here’s Why People Can Still Support Meek Mill’s Release Following Beef With Drake

Hip Hop fans nationwide rejoiced after news broke that Meek Mill was finally released from prison after serving five months out of his two to four year sentence. His harsh sentence sent shockwaves through the community and many heavyweights spoke out including JAY-Z, T.I., and Rick Ross just to name a few.

At this point, we should all know how social media works, and know that the Internet drags everything. So after I heard Meek was released, I was at my day job and instantly scrolled through Instagram. Everyone I know were either reposted any throwback pictures they had with him, or listening to his music. In other words, the dickriding was real. But was it really dickriding tho?

Young people look up to the Philly emcee for the simple fact that they can relate to his rags-to-riches story. And even after his infamous beef with Drake, which is going on three years old, he charged it to the game and redeemed hisself with his 2017 Wins & Losses release. On top of that, who wishes jail on anybody regardless of the situation? We’re happy that he’s finally home. Even Drake said #FreeMeekMill during his Melbourne, Australia show.

So just take it easy, and stop being so hard to be a “real n*gga.”

Welcome home Meek.
