Iggy Azalea confirmed that she’s a first-time mother in June. “I have a son,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
“I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize that I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world,” Iggy explained of the secrecy. “I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.”
Earlier this week, there was speculation that the rapper named her son Gilbert. “I’m okay with y’all joking ‘n all but let it be known I didn’t name my child that. Lmao,” she replied, according to the Daily Mail.
On Tuesday, Iggy shared an audio recording on Instagram of herself talking to her “baby boy” Onyx. Fans gushed over the name considering the “Fancy” rapper’s birth name is Amethyst.
One person remarked on the post, “Your names go so well together omg,” to which Iggy Azalea responded, “We besties forever.”
