J. Cole Accepts That ‘He’s Behind Drake and Dot’ In Surprise ‘Heavens EP’ Freestyle

J. Cole dropped a surprise freestyle over Drake’s Certified Lover Boy cut, “Pipe Down” titled “Heavens EP.”

The Hip Hop veteran spoke candidly about his life’s decisions and reflected on his career on the song.

Cole addressed his hoop dreams: “Like the second time I got cut from the junior varsity/Fightin’ back tears, I promised to switch gears/And said to myself “Whatever you do, you won’t do it partially.”

He also addressed the comparisons to his rap peers Drake and Kendrick Lamar: “Some people say I’m running third, they threw the Bronze at me/Behind Drake and Dot, yeah them n*ggas superstars to me/Deep down I’m afraid of my luminosity that’s why when you see me on red carpets I’m moving awkwardly.”

“Heavens EP” is accompanied by a visual of J. Cole traveling through Las Vegas which you can enjoy in its entirety below.

This musical effort comes fresh off the heels of the release of Off-Season, which dropped in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
