Jordan Peele Will Begin Filming ‘Get Out’ Sequel This Year

Jordan Peele sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that he’s already working on the script for the highly-anticipated Get Out sequel.

For his sophomore directorial feature, Peele is aiming for the same tone as Get Out. “I am currently writing it, and I’ll direct for Universal this year,” he told THR. “I’m just trying to entertain myself again.”

As expected, Peele kept the juicy details tightly under wraps, but he did confirm that he will continue to push genre boundaries.

One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun genre of intrigue is my favorite. That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one.

Universal set a 2019 release date for an “untitled social thriller” by Peele in May, and this could be the project in question.
