Kanye West took a page out of Donald Trump’s book and has been giving updates on his Presidential campaign via Twitter. Ye announced his plans to run for U.S. president on July 4th, and he proclaimed that he can defeat Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the November election on Saturday afternoon.
“I CAN BEAT BIDEN OFF OF WRITE INS,” West tweeted, adding the hashtag #2020VISION.
The 43-year-old’s message comes after an uneasy week for the rapper, who posted a series of since-deleted tweets following his unexpected presidential campaign rally in South Carolina on July 19. He entered the presidential race as an independent candidate for the “Birthday Party.” Since then he has since qualified to appear on Oklahoma’s general election ballot, he has missed the deadline in many other states.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION, “ Kanye tweeted.
People are wondering if the “Follow God” rapper is serious about making a change in the White House and if so, how will his mental health affect his outcome and what will people think of his tactics. According to Forbes in a recent interview, Kanye explained his decision to enter the race while criticizing Joe.
“This man, Joe Biden, said if you don’t vote for me, then you are not Black, the rapper says. He continued, “Well, act like we didn’t hear that? We act like we didn’t hear that man say that? That man said that. It’s a rap. We gonna walk, all the people. That is a form of racism and white supremacy and white control to say that all Black people need to be Democrat and to assume that me running is me splitting the vote. All of that information is being charged up on social media platforms by Democrats.”
Since he is running for President people were still wondering if he was still supporting the MAGA leader Donald Trump but Kanye revealed that he is no longer supporting President Trump or the idea of re-election.
“I am taking the red hat off, with this interview,” he told Forbes. “It looks like one big mess to me. I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker [during the D.C. protests.]”
It’s worth noting that Kanye West focused his attention on Presidential hopeful, Biden, instead of the person who is currently sitting in the White House who he once called his “bro.”
