Kanye West to Perform for ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season Premiere

Kanye West is scheduled to join actor, Adam Driver, as the musical guest for the premiere of season 44 of Saturday Night Live. NBC made the announcement on Monday in traditional SNL fashion, on Twitter.

The declaration comes as SNL‘s Michael Che and Colin Jost plan to host the current year’s Emmy Awards. The “Weekend Update” duo, alongside Kent Sublette, likewise as of late re-newed their deals to return as co-head writers of Season 44.

SNLgot 21 Emmy selections this year, with the show having officially won seven of those at the Creative Arts Emmys a weekend ago. One of those wins went to Tiffany Haddish, who won the honor in the wake of hosting the show back in November. Dave Chappelle won a similar honor a year earlier to have the main post-election episode in 2016.

The Season 44 debut will air on NBC on Sept. 29 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.

SNLhas seen a huge flood in its ratings for the two seasons, thanks in no little part to the show’s consistent mocking of the Trump White House. Season 43 found the middle value of 9.4 million watchers for every scene in the Nielsen Live+7 appraisals, making it the most-watched season since 1995. Season 41 found the middle value of 11 million.
