Kate Spade Found Dead of Apparent Suicide in NYC Apartment

Fashion icon Kate Spade has been found unresponsive in her Manhattan home and authorities are blaming it on an apparent suicide. She was only 55 years old and tragically ended her own life this Tuesday morning.

A staff member, at her Park Avenue residence,  found Spade dangling from a red scarf on her bedroom door this Tuesday morning.

NYPD did not at first confirm Spade’s identity, but did say a 55-year-old woman was found unresponsive around 10:30 a.m at a Park Avenue address that lies in the Upper East Side which sources stated belongs to Spade.

According to the Associated Press, Spade left a note that was later found at the scene and details of her note weren’t immediately clear. Officials warn that the investigation is in its beginning stages and the medical examiner will later pinpoint the exact cause and manner of death.
