Lil Baby has the top spot once again.
Three months after debuting on top of the Billboard 200, the Atlanta rapper’s album My Turn jumps from No. 3 to No. 1 on the chart with 65,000 equivalent album units. It marks the album’s second week at No.1, following its debut atop the chart in March. The album never fell below the sixth spot in 13 weeks between March 21st and June 13th.
June 20th marks My Turn’s return to No.1, and the date will be posted on Billboard’s website on June 16th. The No. 1 album had a steady performance since its release. It moved 65,000 units in its opening week, which is the smallest sum for a No.1 in more than a year.
Baby also released a deluxe edition of My Turn on May 1st featuring six additional tracks. On Friday, he dropped a song in response to the protests against racial inequality and police brutality in America called “The Bigger Picture.”
The song was released the same day that Tekashi 6ix9ine released his Nicki Minaj-assisted single, “TROLLZ” and many people were comparing the viewership.
But many artists like Meek Mill and Tory Lanez commended the Atlanta rapper for tackling serious issues in his music.
Meek called Lil Baby, “THE YOUNG GOAT!!!” while ignoring jabs from his ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, and new rival, Tekashi.
“Just give lil baby a Grammy this year already,” Lanez wrote.
