Fresh off the release of her latest single, “Nasty One,” rap icon Lil Kim found her way back on the charts. Both Hard Core and Notorious K.I.M. are charting again, Hard Core re-appearing back at the No. 6 spot of top Hip Hop/Rap albums on iTunes. Unmistakably, Kim fever is blending, as confirm by Stefflon Don’s latest album cover, and everyone is trying to figure out who’s the “queen” right now.
“THIS IS UNBELIEVABLY INSANE!!!,” writes Kim, taking to Instagram to share the news. “My 2 little babies Hard Core and Notorious K.I.M. are re-charting and running the victory lap!! Thank you to everyone for the support!!” What’s even more impressive is these projects came out in 1996 and 2000, respectively, and the oldest one is in the top 10 spot in 2018. This could be due to the fact that Nicki Minaj paid homage to Notorious B.I .G on her latest album Queen by re-doing his “Dreams,” which Kim re-did on her Hard Core album.
It’s always nice when people are interested in Hip Hop during its glory days, hopefully, other classics would come to make a victory lap.
