As fans tensely sit tight for Lil Wayne’s highly-anticipated album, Tha Carter V, a song from the Young Money honcho has surfaced on DatPiff titled, “Quasimodo.”
On the track, Tunechi raps about trapping and uses his protégé Drake’s notorious motto, YOLO. “I pull the cash out scream Y.O.L.O / To I get a sore throat I scream Y.O.L.O / N***as come masked up like Zoro / Fuck your bitch on the lean that’s a slow poke.” he raps.
Wayne has appeared on several features this year as he wrapped up his legal fight against his former parent label, Cash Money Records and Birdman. In the end, he reached a settlement and was released from his deal in June. The 10-year wait for The Carter V may be over sooner than later.
Weezy gave fans an update on the album during a Miami show. “Just to let y’all know I had a meeting today, it wasn’t a long meeting,” he teased the audience. “Just so y’all know the meeting was about the release date of Tha Carter fucking V.” That’s all we know about the release of the album. So there’s no telling if this new joint is featured on it, or if this is a loose.
Hopefully this is an indication that the collection will be out soon. Wayne will be dropping it through Young Money and Universal Music. Tune in to “Quasimodo” below.
