LisaRaye and Nicki Minaj are having a weird rough patch stemming from Usher’s comments about the Queens rapper being a product of Lil Kim.
After the veteran actress said Nicki needs to bow down to Kim, the Barbs attacked her and she clarified her comments on The Breakfast Club and on FOX Soul.
Raye was basically saying that new artists need to pay homage for the artists that paved the way for them. But that didn’t stop Minaj from sending shots to Lisa in her new collaboration with Tekashi 6ix9ine.
“Dolla dolla bill come get her, even your man knows Nickis do it it better,” Nicki spit.
LisaRaye responded to the rapper on FOX Soul. “It has to be about me. And my thing is, I ain’t know I was that relevant to be put in a song. But that’s a good thing. It’s a business. You know she gotta be trendy, she gotta stay relevant herself, and stay current.”
She added, “She must’ve felt like I must’ve been saying something that made her made her go [growl noise]. But of course, we already know it wasn’t like that. But hey, she took … one of the no. 1 Black cult films, their leading actress, and put it in a phrase for her song. How ingenious. I just wish I can get some money, some residuals from it”
