Meek Mill and Michael Rubin are joining forces again to help the young scholars in Philadelphia. The pair are donating over $2 million in scholarships to aid underserved students in private and public schools.
The money will help about 1,000 pre-K, grade school, high school, and special ed students during the 2020-2021 school year.
The donation is specifically aimed to aid low-income students to cover tuition and other educational expenses like laptops, tablets, and WiFi availability at home and school.
The scholarships will be effective immediately because there are families who are undoubtedly struggling throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Meek Mill and Rubin have been working together for a while now. They co-founded the REFORM Alliance, an organization aimed at reforming the criminal justice system.
The organization successfully passed probation reform laws in California with intentions to lower recidivism rates.
