Ever since Meek Mill’s release from prison, he has been the face of urban social justice. With a new mission on his hands and a personal vendetta against him, the Philadelphia rapper is not taking his fight for justice lightly. He started off with interviews then he hit the stage at the BET awards with Miguel for his debut of “Stay Woke,” featured on his 4-track EP, Legends of the Summer.
Everything Mill touches has a cause now. It’s deeper than songs, lyrics and music videos. It’s a battle for those behind bars who are dealing with the same situation as he was and doesn’t have a platform as large as he does.
In a recent commercial, Meek infused the Puma brand along with his own as a platform for reform. ESPN has shown support of the commercial and has aired it many times. The Dreams & Nightmares rapper thanked them via social media. “Puma commercial about #REFORM on ESPN. Thank you for supporting this issue. It means a lot to the streets A.K.A the other side of America! #FreeThePeople”
