If you enjoyed Michelle Obama’s book, Becoming, it’s being adapted into a Netflix documentary.
Obama did a 34-city book tour in addition to smaller community meetups with young people, which will be highlighted in the flick.
Becoming went on to be the best-selling memoir of all time, moving 10 million copies. Bronx filmmaker, Nadia Hallgren, directed the documentary and it will be on the streaming platform on May 6th.
“Those months I spent traveling — meeting and connecting with people in cities across the globe — drove home the idea that what we share in common is deep and real and can’t be messed with,” Obama wrote in a statement.
“In groups large and small, young and old, unique and united, we came together and shared stories, filling those spaces with our joys, worries and dreams. We processed the past and imagined a better future.”
Michelle Obama and hubby, Barack Obama, inked a multi-million dollar deal with Netflix. One of their initial releases, American Factory won the Oscar for Best Documentary earlier this year.
