Naturi Naughton Reveals 3LW MTV ‘Cribs’ Used During The Episode Was Fake

During a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club” to promote the newest ABC series “Queens”.  A musical drama series starring Naturi Naughton, Eve , Brandy and Nadine Velazquez. The show is a musical drama about a hip-hop girl group from the 1990s who reunite in their 40s to try to replicate the fame and success they found decades prior. During the interview Naughton revealed she can relate to her “Queens” character role.

When her 2000’s era girl group 3LW appeared on a MTV Cribs episode back in 2001 to show off a house that didn’t really belong to them. Naturi along with members Adrienne Haughton and Kiely Williams. There are moments though, when I’m in scene, like, ‘Yo, this really happened to me,’” she said. “I lived it. I was doing a fake ‘Cribs’ … MTV did the ‘Cribs’ and back when 3LW was hot, we had to pretend. But I didn’t have a car, I didn’t have a house, I didn’t have any of those things.  But we did ‘MTV Cribs.

’”Naughton said that an episode of “Queens” was “very similar to that… where you see how fake we have to project this image and I literally did that and had to clean the house by seven o’clock to give it back to the owner.” She clarified that they hired someone to clean the home. “We had to clean up all of our stuff, get a cleaning person.“It wasn’t that bad, but things were bad.

Naughton who quit the band in 2002 after an alleged chicken-throwing altercation. However, both ladies have denied for years that the disagreement ever resulted in fried chicken being thrown at Naughton. ”The premiere episode of “Queens”debuts Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
