Was Nicki Minaj Scammed to Perform at Shanghai Music Festival?

Nicki Minaj hopped on the first thing smoking and took a trip all the way to Shanghai, China to perform for a music festival only to find out it was a big rip off.

Details of the entire ordeal has not been confirmed, but it appears to be one giant scandal.

Minaj arrived in China to play at the DWP China festival on November 18th alongside the likes of Blasterjaxx and Luis Fonsi. Although the organizers are blaming the 32-year-old rapper for not performing, a few days before she arrived to China the event’s website posted the following statement: “The event rumored to take place in Shanghai on 17th & 18th of November 2018 is an unauthorized use of DWP trademark. DWP as a brand, has no association with the event. The alleged lineup artwork of DWP China, which has been circulating online is unauthorized.”

Rumor has it that the Queen rapper was promised $3 million for the gig and was expecting 8,000 attendees, but there were only 1,000 in the small venue.

Nicki Minaj didn’t publicly comment on what really went down, but before jetting back to the states, she made this video for her fans and promised to be back with a “better partner.”
