Police Officer Who Gunned Down Tamir Rice is Back in Uniform

Former Cleveland police officer, Timothy Loehmann, who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice in 2014, has now been employed as low maintenance officer for the little Ohio town of Bellaire.

Bellaire Police Chief Richard Flanagan said he trusts Loehmann merits another opportunity. Flanagan said, “He was cleared of any and all wrongdoing. He was never charged. It’s over and done with.”

Loehmann was shockingly never arraigned by a grand jury for Rice’s murder and despite the fact that he was fired following the shooting, it wasn’t a direct result of the shooting itself but since he lied about his poor employment history as an officer. He was compelled to leave from his short residency with the Independence Police Department after he was dubbed unfit to be a cop. He additionally failed an exam given by the Maple Heights Police Department in Ohio in 2009.

Lawyer Subodh Chandra, who spoke to Rice’s family in a government unfair passing and social liberties claim, said Tamir Rice’s mom, Samaria Rice, holds firm in her conviction that Loehmann “doesn’t belong on any police force anywhere.”
