Quavo Addresses Lil Peep Controversy Over “Big Bro” Lyrics

Quavo is setting the record straight about any misinterpretations of the lyrics to his song “Big Bro.” The Atlanta rapper received backlash when people thought he was taking jabs at Lil Peep who died last year of a Fentanyl overdose. “Lil Peep Is A Legend A Real Rockstar,” Quavo tweeted on Monday. “N E V E R will speak on the deceased.”

The speculations escalated after Smokeasac, who frequently collaborated with Peep, brought attention to some of the song’s lyrics below:

Is you with me or against me? / I’m a OG now so you need me / Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s Fentanyl / (No-no bars, it’s Fentanyl) / Think you’re living life like rockstars but you’re dead now.

Quavo dismisses the idea that he tried to insult the rapper or anyone close to him. “RIP TO ANYBODY WHO LOST THERE LIFE TO DRUG ABUSE!” he wrote.

Quavo chose to show love to XXXTentacion in his tweet. Someone corrected him telling him that X was murdered in June and didn’t die from an overdose.

Quavo dropped his debut solo collection a week ago, with features from Drake, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, and Madonna spread across 19 tracks. Presently we’re looking out for solo activities from Migos’ other two members, Offset and Takeoff.
