R. Kelly Reportedly Received Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine From Prison

R. Kelly is awaiting trial for his sexual misconduct cases but he was able to receive both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

TMZ reports that the singer received the second dose from the Bureau of Prisons at MCC Chicago.

Kelly received his first dose in January, so now he’s fully protected.

The BOP reports that 63 inmates in MCC Chicago and 128 staff members are fully vaccinated.

As previously reported, R. Kelly made numerous attempts to be released from prison especially during the beginning of the pandemic, arguing that he was high-risk. But now he has nothing to worry about in regard to the virus now that he’s fully vaccinated.

His trial still looms and is scheduled for September after COVID-19 related delays. R. Kelly hasn’t publicly commented on receiving the vaccine but it definitely put a wrench in his escape plan.

But at least the prison is ensuring his health and safety after he was stabbed by a fellow inmate.
