Samuel L. Jackson, Nia Long, Anthony Mackie to Star in ‘The Banker’

Director, George Nolfi has cast Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, Nicholas Hoult, and Nia Long to star in The Banker, a reality-based dramatization that Nolfi wrote with Nicole Levy. Romulus Entertainment is financing the film, with Brad Feinstein of Romulus (Fences, Beatriz at Dinner) producing.

The Banker is about two African American business people, Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who amid the 1950’s endeavored to go around the racial restrictions of the time and go up against the foundation by enrolling a working-class white man, Matt Steiner (Hoult) and preparing him to act like the leader of their business while they acted like a janitor and a driver. Bernard’s significant other Eunice (Nia Long), assumes a key job in setting up the undertaking. Garrett and Morris end up two of the wealthiest and best land proprietors in the nation with Steiner as their front man, yet their prosperity comes with serious risks.

Nolfi last directed the Bruce Lee film, Birth of The Dragon, and before that The Adjustment Bureau subsequent to scripting dramas like The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve. The film is underway in Atlanta.
