Snoop Dogg‘s released his new 19th studio album, called ‘The Algorithm’. It’s his first album for theDef Jam since taking on the role of Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant. The album includes 25-track with features from Mary J Blige, Ty Dolla $ign, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes and supergroup Mount Westmore with Ice Cube, E-40 and Too Short.
Snoop Dogg dropped the first video of the album “The Algorithm”Go to War” ft Blxst. Snoop’s wife Shante Broadus’ company, Boss Lady Entertainment Film, produced the retro-themed visuals. In the video they go to a drive-in movie, a low-key gaming establishment, and fight villians over money, professing their undying love for their girlfriends.
Speaking about the album in a statement, Snoop said: “There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
On an appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Snoop Dogg stated he wants control of Death Row Records.“I think all of Death Row should be in my hands. Snoop stated that he would sign musicians such as YG, Roddy Ricch, and Ty Dolla $ign to Death Row Records, claiming that “everything coming out of the west” would find a place there.
The “Algorithm” album is Snoop’s second full-length release of the year following From tha Streets 2 tha Suites, which dropped on 4/20.
