Steve Harvey Celebrates Bernie Mac’s Life Via Instagram

Today, August 9th, marks the 10 year anniversary of Bernie Mac’s death. The comedian died from pneumonia and the media reported, doctors diagnosed him with sarciodosis. Mac would have been 50 years old if he was still alive. In celebration of his life and legendary career, Steve Harvey posted up a commemoration on Instagram.

The actor was known for his vicious tongue, slick remarks and hilarious comebacks in various movies such as Who’s The Man, House Party 3, How To Be A Player, The Player’s Club and that’s just to name a few. He was born in Chicago and raised by his parents, Mary McCullough and Jeffery Harrison. Mac used to perform in Chicago parks and worked at the Regal Theater before he became a professional comedian in the year 1977. When his career reached the next level, he was only 19.

His performance in The Original Kings of Comedy, back in 2000, made him a household name, sparking his legacy. The Bernie Mac Show debuted in 2001 and kept his comedic reputation alive while he skipped through movie scripts and dominated every role he played.
