The first trailer for the highly-anticipated live remake of the Lion King is finally here.
The trailer models the original one, where Rafiki presents a young Simba to the animals of the Pride Lands.
Many 90’s babies were satisfied to hear the narration was done by James Earl Jones, who plays Mufasa in the 1994 flick, and the remake slate to release next Summer.
The trailer above raked up over 10 million views in a day. It premiered during NFL’s traditional Thanksgiving primetime game in the US.
Disney recruited The Jungle Book’s helmsman, Jon Favreau to direct The Lion King. Donald Glover will play Simba, Beyonce will play his love interest Nala and Chiwetel Ejiofor will play his uncle Scar.
“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” Jon said.
