There’s truly nothing like a Summer in New York City. The weather is hot and humid, the smell of garbage taints the air, and rats swerve through the pavements. The days are brutal, but the nights are rewarding and full of life.
Last night (July 29) The LOX, Young M.A., and DJ Funk Flex took the stage at the Ford Amphitheater and it was definitely an epic Summer NY night. Funk Flex opened up the show pumping the crowd up with a slew of hits from the Golden Age of Hip to today’s trap-infused hits.
Young M.A. performed songs like “HennyNHoes,” “Praktice,” and of course her breakthrough single, “OOOUUU.”
The LOX closed the set performing classics like, “Hard Life,” “All For The Love,” as well as more current songs like Meek Mill’s “Heaven or Hell.” Lil Cease made a surprise appearance after the 90’s trio performed “Money, Power, Respect.” Camp Lo also came out to perform “This Is It.”
The vibe at the Ford Amphitheater was unmatched last night. What a better way to celebrate a NY Summer night than with some NY Hip Hop veterans, and a vital rising Brooklyn voice.
