Tracee Ellis Ross is set to produce and star in the Daria spinoff, Jodie.
Comedy Central picked up the MTV Studios series and will reportedly pair it with South Park. The new series is centered around Jodie Landon, Daria’s friend at the fictional Lawndale High. The animated series will show her character graduating from college and entering a complicated world.
For five seasons Daria took Gen X through the trials and tribulations of High School. Jodie will do the same for a satirical workplace, shedding light on the personal and professional issues Black women face.
There’s no word on who will be joining the cast with Tracee Ellis Ross, but the Black-ish star is voicing the main character.
