Manny Halley is putting on his producer hat again for the second installment of True to the Game.
The follow-up film picks up a year after True to the Game, following the lives of the characters affected by Quadir’s murder. Separating herself from Philly’s dangerous scene, Gena has reinvented herself as a journalist, living and working in New York City.
Gena’s writing is flourishing the way Quadir would’ve wanted and she went to Los Angeles for a career-changing assignment. Though she is far from home, her past always seems to haunt her. Someone from Quadir’s clique avenged his death with a hit on one of Jerrell’s crew members, reigniting another Philly civil war. Jerrell is determined to get paid by any means necessary and he’ll start with Gena.
The movies are based on Teri Woods’ novels of the same title.
