Here’s What We Know About Usher’s Alleged Fake Money Scandal

Recently an exotic dancer accused Usher of using counterfeit money with his face on it as tips.

On April 12 a dancer from Sapphire Las Vegas posted an Instagram photo that said:

“Ladies, what would you do if you danced all night for Usher and he threw this?” The post was a picture of the “Usher bills.” She continued with another caption, “and the money doesn’t have a trade-in value whatsoever! Lmao, Don’t you all think he should be blasted for this shit.”

The post was initially shared within the exotic dancer community but within hours The Shade Room took ahold of it. Instantly as this was published Usher and his “bills” trended within social media.

While many took the side of the dancers and were furious at him. Others were able to point out that the money was similar to the picture Usher himself posted on his own Instagram.

While Usher and his representatives have not said anything there was a brief comment from the marketing director of the club. In the email to Rolling Stone, George M. Wilson IV denied the dancer’s post by saying, ” someone in his team left some Usher dollars on the floor to promote his Vegas residency.  That is where it seems the confusion came in. But real actual cash was used for tips.”

While the artist was a true gentleman many were still furious through the misunderstanding. During the COVID crisis, many exotic dancers and performers have had a difficult time making income. And as there is still a stigma about the performers it is difficult to maintain a steady job in the adult industry. With websites like OnlyFans and dancing online through webcams. Many performers have had to wait or find other means for payment.

So as this story trended many had to remember that while Usher is supportive of exotic dancers. Not many will forgive artists for using these workers’ environment as self-promotion.
