Vanessa Bryant has been juggling the legality of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant’s shocking deaths while remaining graciously poised in public for her family.
The widow proposed legislation that would “save lives” by forcing helicopters with six or more passengers to be equipped with a terrain awareness system.
“I strongly urge that the United States Congress pass a federal law that would improve the safety of helicopters operating in this country,” said Bryant.
“I believe there is a chance that Kobe and Gianna would still be alive today if their helicopter had been equipped with the safety equipment required by this pending federal legislation,” she said in a statement, according to the outlet.
Vanessa Bryant made the statement after Democratic lawmakers introduced the Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant Helicopter Safety Act,” which would also order choppers with more than six passengers to have a flight data recorder and a cockpit voice recorder.
Bryant believes the strict enforcement will prevent any more tragedies like the one she’s currently dealing with.
