Ahead of last Summer, JAY-Z announced that he will have a hand in the upcoming Trayvon Martin documentary. He served as an executive producer for the film alongside his mother, Sybrina Fulton, and father, Tracy Martin.
The flick is titled, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story. The project was initially a joint venture with The Weinstein Co., but in light of the sexual misconduct allegations against the company’s co-owner, Harvey Weinstein, the doc will be released through Paramount Network.
According the description, “The six-part non-scripted documentary series will be the definitive look at one of the most talked-about and controversial events in the last decade that spurred the impactful worldwide ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement.”
Chachi Senior, Michael Gasparro, Jenner Furst, Julia Willoughby Nason and Nick Sandow are also executive producers. Rest in Power was co-directed by Furst and Nason.
The official teaser below reveals the series will air in July 2018.
