Will Smith Made Standup Debut at Dave Chapelle’s All-Star Show

Dave Chappelle hosted an all-star standup comedy show at the Peppermint Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (Sept. 19). Will Smith joined the comic on stage for his standup debut, with wife, Jada Pinkett Smith and daughter, Willow Smith in attendance. LeBron James, Jon Stewart, Michelle Wolf, Katt Williams, Michael Che also graced the stage.

The show additionally had its genuine minutes. Jon Stewart made a passionate plea for gun control. Williams sang a song for LeBron James’ entry to the Lakers, which James was pretty much on mute about. Wolf went up against women’s issues and gender divide.

As for Will Smith, he revealed to the audience that his 50th birthday celebration was coming up and doing standup was on his “bucket list” and that he was taping the experience for a show called, The Bucket List. He’s scheduled to bungee jump over the Grand Canyon next week. His set revolved around life at home with their family. “I kind of lost control of my house,” joked Smith, noting that his wife’s “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook Watch has turned the garage into a control booth. He cracked on the fact that his ex-wife, Sheree, was the first guest. Meanwhile, his son Jaden Smith has a hit single titled, “Icon,” and didn’t want his father featured on it. “He looked at me like I was the second-best rapper in the house!”

Smith likewise clowned about joining social media and rapped a bit for the night’s grande finale. When all the participants came on stage Chappelle declared, “There’s a new sheriff in town!”
