Baby Phat is back and released its first official collection just in time for the holiday season.
The collection includes its signature velour track suits, crop tops, and tons of other cute pieces.
“OG Baby Phat was a movement—it changed everything for urban women who until then were totally unrepresented and overlooked in 80s/90s fashion,” said Kimora, who worked on the collection alongside her daughters, Ming Lee Simmons, 19, and Aoki Lee Simmons, 16. “Baby Phat gave a lot of women—especially women of color—a voice and freedom of expression. Now my girls are grown, and we have the chance to celebrate the Baby Phat lifestyle with not only nostalgic Gen Xers, but millennials, xennials and centennials that weren’t even born the first time around. Now they get to be a part of that legacy.”
Ming Lee and Aoki Lee Simmons are the stars of the campaign and we must say, they BODIED it. They’ve come a long way since their shoots from the children’s collection.
Baby Phat was reacquired this year by Kimora Lee Simmons. Fans were teased with a Forever 21 collaboration, which proved the iconic brand is very much still in demand.
A lot of people are rejoicing for the 2000s street wear brand’s return, meanwhile others are floored by the prices.
Either way, Baby Phat is here for to stay and you can check out their online store.
