Malcolm D. Lee Teases ‘The Best Man’ Third Installment

The third installment of The Best Man series might be in the works.

Malcolm D. Lee responded to a Twitter user who wrote, “Dearest @Malcomdlee, It’s been 7 years since “The Best Man Holiday.” Are you going to make us wait another 20 years for the third installment?”

“No, I will not,” the filmmaker quipped.

The Best Man Holiday was a tear-jerker for fans of the franchise. Mia, who is portrayed by Monica Calhoun, passed away from cancer and we’re all wondering what Lance is doing without the love of his life. The flick ended with a cliffhanger that suggests the next movie will be centered around Terrence Howard’s character, Quentin, and Melissa De Sousa’s character, Shelby.

Taye Diggs said that the movie will be adapted into a franchise. “Script has already been written,” Diggs said in the video below.

The remaining cast members haven’t mentioned anything about the film but how would the pre-existing storyline unfold since Howard announced his retirement from acting last year.

The veteran actor said he’s “done pretending” and wants to focus on “bringing truth to the world” in an interview with EXTRA. He gave a deeper explanation on The Real below:
