GoFundMe Suspends Candace Owens’ Campaign Following Controversial George Floyd Remarks

Candace Owens put her foot in her mouth again and as a result, GoFundMe suspended her campaign for Birmingham’s Parkside Cafe.

The cafe’s co-owner, Michael Dykes, called George Floyd a “thug” and called protestors “idiots” in a text message to his co-worker. Consequently, three employees quit and people began boycotting the restaurant online.

The conservative political commentator was also in the hot seat for saying that she’s sickened that he is now a martyr. “The fact that he has been held up as a martyr sickens me. George Floyd was not a good person, I don’t care who wants to spin that. I don’t care how CNN wants to make you think he changed his life around,” she said in an interview with Beck. “He was just after his sixth or fifth stint in prison.”

Owens took to Twitter to announced that her campaign was suspended by the company because her fundraiser was “in support of hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind.”

Candace Owens raised over $200,000 in a couple hours and you would’ve thought she learned her lesson after that. But she lashed out on Twitter doubling down on her claims about Floyd who was unarmed, handcuffed and died in police custody. “Guess my message to little kids would be for them not to idolize men that: Get high on fentanyl, get high on meth, use counterfeit bills, shove guns into the stomaches of pregnant women while robbing them, go to prison 5 times. What a truly horrible message I carry,” she wrote.
