Drake confirmed that he’s working on new music and surprised fans with this new record, “War.”
He released the visuals with it and it notably kicks off with him smoking a joint. The song sounds UK drill inspired and it’s featured on the newly released El-Kuumba Tape Vol. 1.
Drake addressed his beef with The Weeknd and confirmed that it’s squashed. “OVOXO link up […] the boy that sound like he sang on Thriller, you know that’s been my n**ga, yeah, we just had to fix things, family, 6 tings, we can’t split up.”
The 6 God played a huge role in the XO artist’s career but they haven’t always seen eye to eye. Their friendship first had a rift when Weeknd inked a deal with Republic Records instead of OVO as expected. They worked that out but there were rumors about Drizzy messing with the Toronto singer’s ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid during their break. Fans began speculating if the beef was reignited because of the jabs in the Weeknd’s verse on Gesaffelstein song “Lost in the Fire.”
But according to The Boy, it’s all good in the hood.
