STARZ is rounding up the cast for Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and we’re going to see a few familiar faces. Joey Bada$$ joins the cast alongside Omar Epps, Quincy Brown, Patina Miller, Mekai Curtis, Hailey Kilgore and Lovie Simone.
London Brown (The Hustle), Malcolm Mays (Snowfall), Shanley Caswell (NCIS: New Orleans), and Toby Sandeman (The Royals) were all added to the cast with the Brooklyn emcee.
Unlike the series’ original installment, the show was created by Sascha Penn, who also serves as showrunner, instead of Courtney Kemp. The prequel will follow the journey of 50 Cent’s character, Kanan, during the early ’90s in New York City.
Joey Bada$$ is set to portray a Kingpin named Unique who is holding it down for his brother who’s serving a life sentence. He is the direct rival to Miller’s character, Raq.
