Hold up, wait a minute! You thought Nicki Minaj was finished?
The Queen of Rap released a Nas-assisted single called, “Sorry” one day after she debuted her album, Queen. After unleashing a series of teasers on Twitter, DJ Funk Flex premiered the track on Hot 97.
Shortly after her album was surprisingly released after she announced that it was delayed to be dropped one week from now to wait for the sample clearance for this record, Nas commented “QTGM.” Nicki responded, “So mad they can’t hear our song babe.”
It turns out that Shelly Thunder made a reggae cover to Tracy Chapman’s, “Baby Can I Hold You.” Thankfully everything worked out in the end because this song is a bop. Check out Nicki and Nas’ new joint, the reggae sample, and Chapman’s original.
