We have nothing but time, and Ari Lennox and Snoop Dogg are at the center of yet another social discourse.
Dreamville’s R&B songstress has gained notoriety for her comedic Instagram videos. Recently, the “Up Late” singer posted a video of herself trying on a lace front wig. In the video, Ari hilariously narrated along as she struggled to lay the wig down properly before realizing it was a fail because she didn’t have a wig cap. “Where am I supposed — where am I supposed to get a wig cap?” She trolled.
Snoop came across Ari’s hair struggles by way of The Shade Room and wrote, “Grow your hair. What happened to those days?”
His comments came back to haunt him once the Twitterverse caught wind of his unsolicited opinion. As many users pointed out, Ari has always proudly worn her hair in its natural state. “This is how you know Snoop don’t even KNOW who Ari Lennox is, cuz Ari has a WHOLE AFRO of natural hair. She’s prolly worn wigs 3x TOPS,” one Twitter user pointed out. “Defending a man who wouldn’t even keep scrolling for you.” Keyshia Cole jumped into the mix simply saying “Men.”
To top it all off, Snoop’s comment came after she came to the West rap icon’s defense amid all the backlash he was facing for discrediting Gayle King over her controversial interview with Lisa Leslie about the late Kobe Bryant.
Ari responded to Snoop with the perfect clap back. She uploaded a photo of him wearing a blonde bob-style piece. “Uncle I just…I just thought we had an understanding,” she captioned the post.
The comments continue to roll in and social media is not here for Snoop Dogg coming after Ari. Hopefully, Snoop will think before reacting the next time he sees something he might not agree with.
