Pop Smoke was killed Wednesday morning in a home invasion in a Beverly Hills house he was renting. It was unclear what the perpetrators’ motives were, but the Brooklyn rapper might have been the cause of his own demise.

Pop posted a video of gifts delivered to him from Mike Amiri on his Facebook story as he sung the lyrics to his own song: “Mike Amiri, Mike Amiri. Billie Jean, Billie Jean,” he rapped before thanking the designer for the drop. But his address is legible if you pause the video and screenshot it.

Pop Smoke’s death has sent shockwaves through the Hip Hop community especially since he dominated the Summer of 2019 with his hit singles, “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior.”

Nicki Minaj, Quavo, Meek Mill and many of the Brooklyn rapper’s friends and collaborators sent their condolences on social media.
