Recent reports suggest that YNW Melly is facing the death penalties for allegedly killing two of his friends last year.
The once artist on the rise committed two cold blooded murders for profit. The crimes were “especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel,” according to the court document filed last week.
Florida police arrested Melly in February for his connection in the shooting of his friends Christopher Thomas Jr., 19, and Anthony Williams, 21. Authorities report that the “Murder on my Mind” rapper and his pal Cortlen Henry, 20, tried to cover up the incident to make it look like it was a drive-by shooting after driving around with their dead friends’ bodies for hours.
YNW Melly, born Jamell Demons, was jailed without bond and pleaded not guilty. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
