Rapper DMX Dies at Age 50

DMX, the rapper who made iconic history, has died at the age of 50.

Earl Simmons, the both actor and rapper, suffered “catastrophic cardiac arrest” on April 2nd. He was put in life support instantly after his events and was in the hospital in White Plains, New York where he died.

While the artist was in a very bad place health-wise, these included COVID tests and brain scans. Many artists and fans prayed and hoped for his recovery. Even last night manager Steve Rifkind believed and hoped for positive news. But now many are now waiting for more news on his memorial service.

The family confirmed the passing after a brief statement that said:

“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days.”

They included:

“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end he loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle, and the man the world knew as DMX.”

DMX is remembered for his rise to fame when starting his rap career. In 1998 his debut album “Its Dark and Hell is Hot” made the No. 1 Billboard list. Since then he has had great success with his music and career. He has won Grammy awards and topped the charts countless times. He also became a prominent figure as an actor in films like “Romeo Must Die” and “Cradle 2 the Grave.”
