Nene Leakes gets emotional at an Atlanta lounge sharing that her husband Gregg Leakes is “transitioning to the other side” after his cancer returned.
Gregg was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer back in 2018. The couple graced our television screens in 2008 when the Real Housewives Of Atlanta premiered and gave fans a look into their lives as the 67-yer-old battled with cancer.
Since then Gregg has been in remission until a couple of months ago when Nene announced that her husband’s cancer has returned. But the reality star made revealing comments at a lounge after she was called out by a guest for not wishing a visitor a happy birthday.
As seen in footage obtained by The Shade Room, Nene asks for sympathy.
“You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business,” she told patrons. “So when people approach and say, ‘You’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say ‘happy birthday,'” the reality star said. “Please, I’m asking everybody in this lounge, I had no idea that I was going to walk in here and grab this microphone and make this announcement but I want to say this… I want to be at peace. When you see me and you see my son, give us a lot of love, okay? My husband is transitioning to the other side… You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now.”
The following day, she posted on Instagram the word “BROKEN” with praying hands and broken-heart emojis below it. Celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Tiny, and many of her RHOA co-stars showed their love.
