Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk returned to Facebook Watch this Wednesday for its’ season 5 premiere. This is the first episode since the notorious face slap her husband Will Smith gave Chris Rock at the Oscars last month.
We’re all wondering, will The Slap be discussed this season? Unfortunately, there’s no mention of it in the official trailer, so we’re left wondering whether or not Pinkett Smith will speak on the topic later in the season. See the trailer below.
The season kicked off with singer-songwriter and actress Janelle Monáe, who declared that she is nonbinary and explained why she no longer sees herself as a woman. The 36-year-old previously came out as pansexual back in 2018, as per USA Today.
The Memory Librarian author went on to say in the episode,
“I’m nonbinary, so I just don’t see myself as a woman, solely. I feel all of my energy. I feel like God is so much bigger than the ‘he’ or the ‘she,'” she said. “And if I am from God, I am everything. I am everything. But I will always, always stand with women. I will always stand with Black women. But I just see everything that I am. Beyond the binary.”
Other Season 5 guests include Kim Basinger and her daughter Ireland Baldwin; the parents of Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, who died by suicide this year; and “The Tinder Swindler” victim Ayleen Charlotte. Also, Smith’s siblings Willow, Jaden, and Trey take over the table for their first solo episode, as per Deadline.
