Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital last week after her boyfriend found her unresponsive in what was a suspected suicide attempt.
A letter that the reality star wrote emerged described the WeTV network’s leaders as “cruel white slave masters” who were “destroying a great Black family” in the name of show ratings.
Of course, TMZ got their hands on the emotional audio. “She’s been drinking and she’s on medication for depression,” the singer’s boyfriend, David Adefeso, is heard saying.
Adefeso tells the dispatcher, “She was very angry earlier on. She’s had trouble with the network, the company she’s working with, and they did something today.”
He’s heard sobbing and exclaimed, “F**king network.”
The couple has been together for two years following Tamar Braxton’s split from music executive, Vincent Herbert. “And it’s come to this,” Adefeso says, “When do you get free? At what point are you really free? They’ve taken away her happiness, everything.”
A PageSix report suggests Tamar was suicidal because the network was digging deep into her secrets to sell a story. The final stake into the heart of my family” was “the day you dug up a secret I’d never shared with anyone, a secret I was so ashamed to talk about that I hid it even from my own mom: the fact that I had been assaulted and raped repeatedly from age 6 to age 16, sometimes multiple times a day.”
Braxton said producers had “exposed it on your show in front of my entire family and 100 crew members.” She added, “You broke me that day and I considered ending my own life then for the shame I felt!”
