Rihanna may be consumed with building her Fenty beauty empire, but she didn’t forget about her music fans.

The singer offered a hopeful update on her long-awaited R9 album ahead of the taping of the Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 3.

“You’re not going to expect what you hear. Just put that in your mind,” she said. “Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting. Music is like fashion. You should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want. I treat music the same way. So I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”

There’s no tentative release date for this mystery project but fans can certainly expect some new Fenty.

Its been five years since the release of Riri’s latest musical effort, ANTI which featured fan-favorites like “Work,” “Love On The Brain,” and “Needed Me.”

The annual Savage x Fenty show will air Friday, September 24th on Amazon Prime.
